I was very excited for this as I needed to upgrade my Monitor for awhile now. I
But unfortunately when it was delivered to me I had to realize that it wasn't quite what I hoped for.
The 1920 x 1080 resolution of this LED monitor delivers excellent detail, making it perfect for advanced HD productivity and multimedia applications. LED monitors also consume less power and last longer than those with CCFL lamps. In addition, this monitor is mercury-free, making it safer for you and the environment. DON'T FALL FOR IT!
Terrible viewing angles. Colour reproduction changes like mad accross the screen - my background is solid blue, viewed dead on straight it's fine but only at the centre, gets darker and almost dark grey towards the edges. Impossible to watch a movie. Got serious flicker problem during gaming and HD movie replay, which is very bad for your eyes. Looks good just on the paper unfortunately, save yourself some time and frustration, spent a few more pounds on a decent Samsung screen. I fell for the low price and cheap running cost, never more. The colour on this monitor is awful. Everything looks like it has a strong gradient. Light grey becomes white by the time it is at the bottom of the screen, I put up a fully black screen and it almost looks like there is a spot light coming from the bottom centre of the screen. It is definitely the worst monitor I have used. It is upsetting to think that people can consider this product acceptable.
I was bought this screen as a birthday present earlier this year, but unfortunately the colour on the screen hugely disappoints me. The screen itself is mercury free, so will not end up in landfill destroying the soil, which is obviously absolutely wonderful, but the colours are just awful. I had thought that it was a design fault so I was able to exchange it at Debenhams where it was originally bought from, but it was the same with the second one which is very annoying. The brightness at the bottom of the monitor is much higher that the brightness at the top of the monitor, so I struggle a lot to get my eyes to focus at all when using the screen. It is, however, a decent size especially considering the price that it is (£100 I found out when mooching around Debenhams!) and is very sturdy so I'm not constantly worried about it falling over like I was with my last one. The glossy black colour of the outside collects dust easily, but thats nothing that a duster can't sort!
Unfortunately, this model does not have speakers. This was not an issue for me, but may be for other people and only comes with a VGA cable, so others will need to be bought if you desire them. It uses EchoDisplay technology so is great energy saving technology, which gives it a much longer battery life, as well as the fact that you are helping to save the world at the same time...GREAT!!
I bought this Acer K222HQLbid LCD screen in 2014 as a replacement of my Samsung screen. This Acer LCD screen is very affordable and it cost about £70 from online shop. The screen size is 21.5 inches and screen aspect ratio is 16:9. The products weights only 3.1 kilograms which is quite light when I compare it to my Samsung predecessor. The screen has a very stylish design, but the frame and stand attracts dust and shows fingerprints. On the bottom of the frame is a silver Acer logo. The products altogether is very elegant and is a good fit in any office or a modern home. However the stand can be quite wobbly so I advise not to bump into it too much. The setup of the screen is very easy. Looking straight into the monitor brings no problem, the pictures are clear and colors very bright. However the viewing angle is quite poor, so its not so suitable for a bigger desk where you are moving on the chair too much around and still looking at the screen. However it is absolutely enough for my home office. It shows HD movies in a nice quality and YouTube videos are clear as well.
I must say that this Acer K222HQLbid screen will be not fit for everybody due to its poor viewing angle. But in the end I personally think it is a great value for the little money you pay for it.
I am not regretting buying this product and would definitely recommend it.
The treehuggers amongst will appreciate that the screen is mercury free so won't end up in a landfill contaminating the local flower and fauna!
It has a good moving picture image.
It doesn't suffer from annoying reflections and you can tilt the screen to make the viewing angle better.
For the price.. the design is pretty lean e.g.. the plastic frame around the screen is thin enough to make it look higher end.
Might be the worst colour reproduction I've ever seen, with viewing angles to match. Avoid this screen like the plague. My advice: Spend just a small amount more for an IPS display.
