I upgraded from apple 4s 68gb to the iPhone 6s... and I must say I am an Apple fan and I got fascinated with my iPhone 6s.
Huge improvement on photography like slow motion, live moments... also compatibility with Apple Watch and many apps that allow me start a job on my iMac keep on working on my iPad and have a double check on the job done while i am in public transportation on my iPhone.
Siri is working much better with latest update. And I appreciate the job done when I'm driving and ask Siri to tell home where I am o text a message for me, open my favorite playlist etc... without loosing the road from my sight.
However I regret the battery doesn't last longer, not even a day.
Luckily i also own a charging protector so that i don't run out of battery. Once again Apple offer a nice, smart and efficient smartphone.
Apple really did break into the market at the right time, they brought a phone with a brilliant design and easy to use features into the market and have proliferated this simple business model throughout the upgrades to their phones. This phone is brilliant. It does a lot of fancy things such as slow-motion videoing and high quality pictures, to normal things - like making a call! As a phone, it has such a diverse platform for everyone - it can become a handheld games console (!) or it can organise your frantically busy business life.
The phone is well worth the money you'll shell out for it, not only because it's the 'next one up' and people will buy it regardless, but because it honestly IS an upgrade, and not just the same thing in a different shell.
There are some quirks to it though - Siri sometimes does erratic things, and activates unwillingly. You may also want to stop your friends from making Siri call you something inappropriate, as it will sign off on your emails with whatever they call you. Trust me, I found out the hard way!
The software runs fine, and of course, the set-up and maintenance of the phone is done through i-Tunes.
Now, there is a possibility that the phone will bend if not looked after properly. I find this to be the main disadvantage, as if the phone does bend through maybe even sitting on it, or placing something atop it, the whole phone is ruined.
Apart from this, I couldn't recommend it more.
After owning an iPhone 5 for over 2 years, i felt that it was time for an upgrade.
Why did i upgrade?
Don't get me wrong the iPhone 5 was a great phone, i am a self confessed Apple Fan, i upgraded from the 3GS to the iPhone 5 on April 2013, which was a massive step up in all areas. Im also an Avid Mac user i love the way that my iPhones sync with my Mac's and iPad. The reason i decided i needed to upgrade my iPhone 5 was mainly because of 2 reasons.
Battery Life -
Now when i first got the iPhone 5 2 years ago, the battery life seemed great, i could easily get a days usage without any problem. Recently the battery life has drastically dropped, on the last few days of using the iPhone 5 on a daily basis i would have to charge it twice a day. Now is this because the battery was reaching the end of its life, or is it something in the newer firmware updates as i have noticed a lot of people with the same problem. It like a way of Apple telling you "look, new product time to upgrade" ill leave that up to you to decide!
Now this isn't as such the phones fault, it was more the bad decision i made when i purchased the phone. Listen people if you like apps and photos whatever you do don't buy the 16gb model. Things have moved on from the 1st generation iPod touch where you could get hundreds of apps on 8gb. Apps are bigger and Updates are bigger. Within a few months you will be getting the annoying Memory Full message, then you have to start sorting through and deleting Apps and your favourite games :( when you own a phone for as long as i do theres nothing worse.
Did i make the right decision ?
First Impressions -
Without even turning the iPhone on the design of the iPhone 6 seemed much nicer, i went for the Gold iPhone 6 128gb i know the golds not to everyones taste, but after having a Black 3gs then a space gray 5, it was nice to have a change. The first thing i noticed was how the phone curves on the edges, i really like this, the iPhone 5 was very blocky and the metal would hurt my hand after long periods of use. Although being curved its a lot more slippy and easier to accidentally drop. I would reccomend purchasing a decent non-slip case. The next thing that come to my attention was the size. It feels a lot bigger in the hands, I'm glad i didn't go for the 6 plus for reasons i'll get to in a bit.
Turning on the device-
A big change from the iPhone 5 is the position of the power button. The power button has moved to the side of the iPhone 6, at first i was unsure why they did this and thought it was a bit of a daft idea, as it was going to be easier to knock when in my pocket! It soon came to light why they did this change, because of the length boost unless you have really oversized fingers it would be hard to turn the iPhone on from your regular holding position. Being on the side your thumb seems to naturally fall in to position to hit the power button.
After the device switches on you will notice the beautiful 4.7" 1334x750 display, it is stunning compared to the iPhone 5 everything seems so much more crisp, and its great to have the extra screen real estate you now have 6 rows of applications per page which has been upgraded from the 5 you had on the iPhone 5. Putting the screen quality aside, the phone is still running IOS in fact its still running the same version as i was running on the iPhone 5 as i upgraded the firmware before i bought the iPhone 6. Is this a good thing or a bad thing? I know for some people its not going to feel like they have upgraded their phone as the operating system is the same, i remember the days of having old candy bar button phones, when you would change phone the OS would always look drastically different. For me though the reason i still went with an iPhone instead of converting to Android or Symbian ETC is because of IOS, it just works every things simple and easy to get to, if somethings wrong Apple usually brings out an update which fixes it, and every thing Syncs between my devices.
Is the iPhone 6 quicker? -
Ive noticed a big increase in the speed of opening Apps on the iPhone 6, especially the more processor hungry games seem to load much faster.
Camera Quality -
This is one of the cons for me, i actually prefer the iPhone 5 camera, the pictures seemed much sharper and better quality on the iPhone 5. i was a bit disappointed with the 6's camera pictures they just don't seem like great quality, it also really struggles in lower light situations. Although if you like selfies and logging the front facing camera is much better.
What about the battery life -
Now the battery life is a massive improvement, i am a heavy user of my iPhone, it is essientialy my computer during the day, i charge the phone overnight then i use it through out the day making calls, sending messages and emails, using the navigation, streaming Spotify, checking my social networks and using the internet i can easily get over 7hrs of battery life with over 13hrs stand by time, my iPhone 5 was struggling to get 4hrs usage! Now will this change on iPhone 6 ? only time will tell.
That memory though -
The most exciting thing for me was having 128gb of memory! no more low memory pop ups. Ok, so is it lasting ? After owning the i phone for 4 months i have used 41.5GB of memory, mostly taken by having 227 Apps, is it necessary to have this many Apps ? No! but its great to be able to download what ever i like without having to worry about using all my memory. Its great to be able to get all the latest high end memory eating apps, that i could only dream about on my 16gb iPhone 5, it makes the iPhone 6 so much more useful and fun for me. even though i have used 41Gb its still saying i have 72GB left which is still more than the next step dow 64gb iPhone.
Was it worth it?
Absolutely, if i went for the 16gb my opinion might have been a bit more neutral as the memory would out way the pro's but going to the 128gb and not having to worry about memory, iPhone 6 its a massive step up in all areas from battery to screen size to speed its all a big improvement. I'm thourghly enjoying the use of the iPhone 6 and would recommend the upgrade to anyone.
(Also on CIAO)
After using Apple phones for 6 years, I thought about switching to a different brand but the look of the iPhone 6 had me sold. They are simply so much nicer to hold than any other brands out there, and although they are slightly more expensive, I find that they are definitely worth it. I'd like to advise anyone looking to buy an iPhone to go for as high storage as you can, because the reason I had to upgrade from my 5s was because there was simply no room for me to do anything. However, I feel that the 126 GB should solve that problem!
One of the best aspects of this phone is how easy it is to use. Although, as mentioned, I am experienced with iPhones, I do not think any other brand is as easy to use as them. Similarly, the camera is also super easy to use and get amazing HQ pictures from. My other choice of phone was a Z3 simply due to the great camera but I found that the pictures I took on my boyfriend's Z3 were not as good as the ones on my iPhone due to the fact its camera is so much more difficult to operate.
Basically, if you are looking for a phone that is nice looking, easy to use and modern, then this is for you! I would definitely advise anyone looking to buy an iPhone to do so as my phone is my most prized possession!
The new iPhone 6 is the successor to the iPhone 5 and 5s. Apple fanatics and geeks will go crazy over this new iPhone. Its network from GSM, CDMA, HSPA, EDVO and LTE. It is the biggest (in length), slimmest and fastest iPhone yet. With a 4.7 inch screen 750 x 1330 pixels resolution. It uses iOS 8 which is now upgradable to iOS 8.3. Storage with a choice of 16/64/128 GB and 1GB RAM. I would definitely get the 128 GB storage because i wouldn't want to constantly have to delete pictures and music just because of insufficient space. Now usually most smartphones that are up to date have a bigger megapixel than just 8MP. But the iPhone 6 just like iPhone 5s has a primary camera of 8MP. However, the new iPhone 6 is built with iSight which is supposedly make the quality of the pictures taken from the camera better. But I mean if you already have an iPhone your camera is already perfect. I have friends who uses a Samsung, Sony Xperia and a Nokia Lumia. And at the end of the day, they would still ask an iPhone user to take their picture or a selfie. The other features are pretty similar to the old iPhones before it. I think most people want to buy the iPhone for its camera.
I love the iPhone six. It's big and the battery life lasts me up to two days even.. I love playing games and watching Netflix on my scream it's much bigger then my previous phone. I had the I phone four up until the six came out. I know what a loser haha. I love the new feature where I can unlock my phone just by putting my thumb on the home button. I also love how loud the speaker gets. I can actually listen to music while showering and hear what the song is. Face timing is also much more enjoyable with the big screen. Oh my gosh the camera is fanominal. the details it has and the picture quality is out of this world. seriously! another cool thing is on your email you can just swipe to the right to mark it unread and you can flag it in addition to trashing it if you swipe to the left. I like how the charger is smaller less of a chance to get anything stuck in the charger hole on the phone. It took some getting used to but the lock button on the side works great for me... however with small hands scream shots take for ever to accomplish. There's not a ton that has changed however, what needs to to keep the customers the iPhone is great and the six is even better because well who doesn't love the new and improved master piece? I highly recommend purchasing the iPhone six!!!!
