Great looking and great performance, get what you pay for

I've used this a lot in work. I'd absolutely love one myself but unfortunately the price is well out of my range which is a massive negative on most Apple products. So although I have used this a lot, I don't have any experience in setting one up from scratch, although I am told by many people that this is easy! Some people say the MacBook is a little plain to look at, however I think it';s elegant and beautiful, it's also very light compared to a lot of other laptop makes which makes it great if you're on the move. Another thing to back this on the move argument up is the fact that the battery life last for a very long time, 5/6 hours from what I can tell.

The screen resolution and display are second to none, you can really tell the difference when using another laptop at home, then using this in work. Everything is crystal clear and just so much easier to look at for long periods of time. This also makes it great for graphics related work such as image manipulating. I've also noticed when using this on trains and car for example, the clear display makes it easy to read when the sin catches it, which can be a major problem with other types of screen.

The performance is as good as I've used absolutely no problems there as I'd expect for the price, and after a year of people using ours all day every day there has been no problems with it what so ever.

For the more technical people who work in IT, this can be a great choice due to the developer options that iOS offer which aren't as easy to come across on windows. I wont bore everyone with that here however!

      Great laptop

This is a brilliant laptop. The quality is high standard. I live this laptop because of many reason, first, the texture of the laptop is great, I believe it's made out of metals whereas others are made from plastics so this makes the laptop looks sleek. Also the speed is very fast, I have been using this for over a year now, the speed maintained the same as the first day I used it. The display quality is very good, everything is super clear and the background design is beautiful. The sound system is nice, the range of the volume is wide and it's easy to adjust. The keyboard is one of my favourite, the keys are hard and strong, they are not a bit fragile. The touch pad however is not so good, it's kind of slow and it's hard to drag around. So personally I still prefer the touch pad to be more sensitive. The memory is large enough, even thou Apple have got lots of their own apps installed, the memory is good. One of the disadvantage is probably the price. It's very expensive, but this laptop is high quality and it certainly deserves the money. I would strongly recommend this laptop, it's light and it's also suitable to bring when traveling. This laptop is very reliable. So overall the laptop is the best, even though I still prefer the MacBook Air, this is still one of the best laptop I have used because it's suitable for everyone and it's extremely convenient.

good laptop for iphone but expensive

The Apple MacBook Pro laptop has a complicated but sleek look, is light, has a great screen, very easy to set-up (even for a non-computer whizz such as myself), and overall is very user-friendly. The … is cheap and a bit bland-looking, but its powered by a class Intel processor, with a high-resolution screen so you can see clearly. The Apple MacBook Pro feels solid, and packs a nice keyboard and a fair amount of battery life (up to 6 hours). You will obviously need Wi-Fi connection; the Laptop runs a Microsoft browser-based Windows OS, and while the operating system has come a long way your options are still limited once you're disconnected.

The Battery time is great, and it has an on-screen reminder of when to plug it in for charging or to plug out the battery when full charge is reached. I would say this laptop would be perfect for someone who mainly needs it for browsing the internet, watching movies or playing games, or simply office work. The Apple MacBook Pro is based on the cheaper end of the spectrum. It is made out of plastic and weighs at a total of 1.2kg, which is not bad for a laptop; its definitely not heavy in my hands or when carrying it in a bag, so very good. You could say the laptop is stylish too: there's a shiny little finish bordering the track pad, and the keyboard buttons are arrange in a modern style to give you that eccentric look and feel when using the laptop

It's perhaps because this model has best kept up with the changing laptop landscape. The current Air models are held back by aging designs and low screen resolutions, and the 15-inch MacBook Pro has not received the same updates or new trackpad, and is simply too big to lug around more than once or twice a week (although it's great for a desk-bound system). The classic non-Retina-Display MacBook Pro is surprisingly still hanging on as the last MacBook with an optical drive, but it has little else to recommend it. There's a lot of buzz around the new 12-inch MacBook , but its low-power Intel Core M processor, lack of ports and low-res webcam mean it likely won't be the workhorse that other Macs are.

That leaves this 13-inch Pro as the best balance of performance, battery life, portability and expandability in the current Apple laptop lineup, and one of the first places you should look if you're looking to buy a premium-priced laptop.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro was already a very good laptop. Everyone agreed on that. The 2015 version, which adds the innovative Force Touch trackpad, better battery life and the latest Intel processors, is even better. In fact, it’s arguably the best all-round laptop you can buy.

Why is it so great? Because it combines uncompromised processing power, great battery life and a top-drawer screen in a body that’s genuinely portable. It makes the MacBook Air look kind of pointless and sets a very high bar for rivals to match. It’s a 10 – an easy, no-quibbles 10 at that. It’s as close to laptop perfection as we’ve ever seen.

      Best so far.

Even though this system is on a very high side taking about the price tag, it worth every single penny I spent on it. I have never been this happy and satisfied with a system as it’s the best so far I have used in simple terms.

This machine packs the latest technology into a thin and really light package. Powered by a fifth generation Intel Core i5 processor and Intel Iris graphics,HDD of 256GB,it also includes a pressure-sensitive Force Touch track pad, faster than ever all-flash memory and a long battery life to keep you going on the road. With over four million pixels on show, the Retina display on MacBook Pro is positively stunning. Designed to ensure that your eyes won’t be able to discern individual pixels from a normal viewing distance, images take on a new level of realism, while text is sharp and clear.
With the inbuilt Intel's fifth generation dual-core i5 processor, this made me take on my most demanding apps on the road with such ease and grace.Applications run faster and more efficiently than before. So everything you normally do on a computer you can do even quicker, from web browsing to video editing. Add to this 8GB of RAM and you’ll find performance is smooth even when you’ve got a variety of apps open or rather in a nut shell; this is one of the fastest piece of laptop I ever used.
The Intel's fifth generation processors work with Intel Iris graphics to deliver eye popping graphics and incredible multimedia experiences, without the need for an additional graphics card. So I guess this is great news for gamers and graphics oriented people.
The OS X is packed full of features that will help you take full advantage of your hardware, without compromising on looks or ease of use. It works with your processor to give you the best possible experience and will keep everything up to date, even when it's in sleep mode. If you own and iPhone, iPad or iPod touch running iOS 8,then you can move between devices in even smarter ways. Make and receive iPhone calls on your Mac, even if your iPhone is in another room. Send and receive both iMessage and SMS text messages on your Mac. Start an email, document or browsing session on one device and instantly pick it up on another.

I've owned this laptop for almost 1 year now and to be honest it is most likely my favourite laptop that has been released so far…it is truly terrific. • "super fast"

      Disadvantages

      • "no cd drive"

The best laptop you will have and a good investment!

When first purchasing a Apple Macbook for university I presumed it was going to be better than a normal laptop but did not quite expect it to be as amazing as it has been! It is the quickest laptop I have ever used and turns on and off really quickly. It is also really fast when searching things online and switching applications. It has many benefits such as having different desktops so you can be doing one thing on one and one thing on another and being able to switch between them when you please quickly. It isn't too heavy and is a really good quality laptop. I pretty much take mine everywhere and when needing to quickly do something it is not an inconvenience to wait for it to be turned on etc. I would recommend this laptop 100%. Although it is initially expensive I believe this to be worth it and feel like it will be very long lasting. It is also really useful if you use other Apple products such as the iPad and iPhone as it allows photos and other information to sync to it via iCloud automatically, so information can be seen in various locations without having to constantly plug in products to move information over. My favourite feature about the Macbook is the fact iMessage is on it and so it is really convenient if I don't have my phone charger and my phone has died or if I am just doing something on my computer and need to message someone without having to get my phone. It is really fast and easy, especially if you want to text somebody a long message as you can just type it on the computer. The battery life is also very long and I find I can go a very long time without having to recharge it. I also love the fact that because iTunes is already installed on the computer it works super well unlike experiences I have had with non Apple computers where it takes ages to open and sync music etc. It is a computer where everything is in one place, easily accessibly and quick to use and I wouldn't recommend any other laptop in the way I would an Apple Macbook, especially the new retina one as it turns on a lot quicker and is just generally a quicker system. The quality of the image on the screen is also super good, you can really tell it is retina and just seems a lot more clearer than other laptops which can sometimes appear pixelated. It also useful as you can see the laptop screen at any angle without not being able to see what is actually on the screen. There is only one problem and that is the fact it has no cd drive, however I purchased one separately and use this instead, but it can be a bit annoying to have to carry around separately. I absolutely love my Macbook and could not imagine getting any other laptop after, I have definitely been converted and believe it to be a really good investment for the ease of use and quality of the product! Apple MacBooks are the way forward!

Best laptop obviously it's a mac:)

If you're like me, you'll have spent ages comparing features and specs before splashing the cash on a new laptop. I certainly did, and I finally settled for a Mac.
Quick word of warning: I'm a recent (this model Mac) convert from Windows to a MacBook Pro, and was lucky enough to recently upgrade to a stunning 13 inch Retina. While I love Apple products, I'm not a Mac expert, and this review is for similar non-experts who are thinking about "converting". Because it's a review of the MBP range, you'll find the same review on other specs - skip to the end to see the specifics on this model.

Be aware, this is NOT the very latest hardware (it's been replaced by the "Mac Book Pro with Retina"). However, there's a strongly compelling reason to buy this model (aside from the fantastic price), but you'll need to read on to find out.

Firstly, the hardware - which is just stunning. It's nicely thin and relatively light
During the past 18 months I've also noticed how the OS is becoming even more integrated with the iPhone, iPad and Apple TV. For example, you can now write a Pages or Numbers or Keynote (Word, Excel or PowerPoint for the rest of us) on a Mac and then view and edit them on an iPad (and the software is also free on a new iPad). You can also set a reminder on your iPhone and see it pop up on your Mac, or take a photo on your iPhone and see it appear (no wires, in fact completely automatic) on your Mac in the iPhoto application. This may not be a compelling reason to buy THIS particular model, but it is a great advantage if you already have (or plan to buy) and iPhone or iPad

But, (and this is ironic really), one the best reasons to buy this particular model of machine (and not the very latest Mac Book Pro with retina display), is you can upgrade it. It's a little known fact, that starting with the 2013 Macs, Apple decided to prevent ANY upgrades - including memory and disk (The memory is literally soldered in place). If I understand it correctly, this is one the very last MBP models you can actually increase the memory or replace the hard disk. For example, I bought and installed a Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5 inch Basic SATA Solid State Drive to upgrade the hard drive, and it now REALLY FLIES. Much faster than it was before, and it means I'll get a few more years out of i

Whenever I can afford it, I'll also buy a memory upgrade from 4Gb to 8 or even 16Gb.

On balance - I'd have to say I love Apple Macs - and indeed all Apple hardware (iPhone, iPad included) so it's hard to give a purely objective view. But this is a beautifully designed, well built machine. Highly recommended

        Disadvantages

        • "takes a while to get used to"

        An Interesting Design

This Mac Book was purchased ready for University, but I spent a huge amount of money on it because it was supposed to be the best in the market, but was it really worth what I paid? Is it really the best of today's laptop market?

The refreshed Retina display MacBook Pro brings about a much faster performance and way longer battery life, along has the same stunning screen and comfortable keyboard as the previous model (which I also owned). This time around, though, Apple also traded in its already-best-in-class trackpad for a new, pressure-sensitive one. While it's almost as comfortable to use as its predecessor, I'm not convinced these new touchpad tricks were worth making the switch as they take ages to get used to and are far too sensitive for my likig. That said, the 13-inch Retina MBP remains one of the few laptops of this size that offers such long battery life and this kind of graphics clout.

I have two points regarding the battery life: I was surprised the battery didn't last even longer. First off, though the machine meets Apple's estimates, the my previous Mac exceeded their expectations and that's why the late 2013 model, which was rated for nine hours of runtime, actually clocked more than 11 hours. That brings me to point number two: The battery life here more or less matches what I got a year and a half ago.

The refreshed Retina display MacBook Pro is mostly an incremental improvement over the previous model, with even faster disk speeds and stronger graphics, along with the same comfortable keyboard, slim design, long battery life and stunning screen. The only area where the MBP represents a possible step backward is the touchpad. To Apple's credit, the pressure-sensitive Force Touch pad is interesting, and has the potential to become more useful as third-party developers start to incorporate the "Force Click" into their own apps. In fact, I'm still curious to see what a potential Force Touch iPhone might look like; perhaps the tech would make more sense there, where having pressure sensitivity doesn't mean forfeiting a best-in-class trackpad. Right now, though, Force Touch feels like a solution to a problem I'm not sure anyone had. At worst, it's a gimmick; at best, it's a nice-to-have feature. Either way, although the new touchpad doesn't feel quite the same as the old' "diving board," you should at least get used to it quickly.

MacBook with great design and battery life

I purchased this Apple MacBook Pro for my brother to ease a little bit his university life. He is a big Apple fan so I was quite sure I would not step on a wrong path with this gift. But was it really worth the horrible amount of money I spent on it? This is my point of view:

This MacBook is for sure lighter, thinner and faster than previous generation's models. In detail it is 0.11 pounds lighter and nearly 0.5 inch thinner than its predecessor. It turns on pretty fast as well.

A great feature is that the keys are visible as well in a dark due to efficient back lightening, but if someone prefers it is very easy to connect a bluetooth keyboard as well. The integrated keyboard feels very good and the touchpad reacts very quick and precise. On the MackBook is an HDMI port, a headset jack, an SD card reader and two USB 3.0 ports.

The screen quality is excellent and is great to watch movies on it or for my brothers gaming hobby. The battery life is very good, after heavy testing it lasted about 11 hours.

My brother is very pleased with his new laptop and uses it on daily basis. The negative part was the charger which stopped working after 3 weeks. I am expecting when I buy an overpriced laptop that its components will last way longer.

I would not buy this laptop for myself, but I think that for all the Apple fans out there it is in the end a good choice.

        Reliability with style

        My overall rating : 8/10

The new face of last year's Mac Book Pro re-equipped with Retina Display, compacted into a thinner device and boosted with better performance.

I had many laptops before I purchased my Mac Book Pro, and the first thing that struck me upon un-boxing the product is the slick metal shell which made the design so elegant. Never had I used such a beautiful laptop. Besides the famous well design look of the Mac Book, what's good?

equipped with a 256 GB solid state drive, the device now boots up in under 5 seconds. No constant stuttering as it loads your data or when it re-opens your Google Chrome pages which was selected to reappear upon start up. The device's performance is *the cream of the crop.

Moving on to the lesser parts of the laptop; the reason I had 'Mid battery life' placed is both pros & cons is because during casual browsing (which includes short clips from Youtube or Facebook), the Device could run for 12 hours straight. [ not exaggerating ] However when playing games or watching HD movies, it could just drop down to 1 hour. *but has incredible charging speed - going from 1 to 100% in only 2 + hours.
Another issue that I have experienced is the device tends to over heat when watching Movies and also playing games. It is expected that laptops become hotter as they are used but the Mac book's back right panel gets really hot which makes me afraid to use it any longer. Of course stopping the program will allow the laptop to cool down rather quickly.

Besides these issues, the Mac Book 13" makes an excellent study buddy. If you're at school or uni, this thin and light laptop is extremely portable where you could just slip in between your books and bring it to class. The 13" is a good size where it is not too big and not too small. However if you do prefer the Nvidia GeForce graphics card over the want Intel Iris graphics, I recommend considering the 15".

I am yet to see other problems with the Mac book but as of now, backed with a great IOS system, it is indeed really polished.
